A manuscript by Ryan Farraro, a former graduate student in the MTI lab, was accepted for publication in a special topics issue of Journal of Biomedical Optics. This issue is on the topic of Translational Biophotonics. Ryan’s manuscript describes the design, characterization, and application of a handheld version of laser speckle imaging to monitor blood-flow dynamics. Congratulations Ryan!
MTI lab awarded $118,130 from Air Force Office of Scientific Research
This one-year grant will fund development and deployment of laser speckle imaging technology to the United States Army Institute of Surgical Research.
Bita Kianian awarded an Undergraduate Research Fellowship under the Accelerated Status Program.
Bita, a recent graduate of the UCI Biomedical Engineering undergraduate program, is the newest graduate student in the MTI lab. Her graduate research will focus on development and application of a multimodal intravital microscope to study of the dorsal window chamber model. Congratulations to Bita on her research award!
Congratulations to Sean, Bruce, and Tyler!
Drs. Sean White and Bruce Yang, both current MTI lab members, and Dr. Tyler Rice, a former UCI physics student who worked at Beckman Laser Institute, took second place at the University of California systemwide primeUC competition, with an award of $50,000 for their startup venture Laser Associated Sciences. Congratulations to Sean, Bruce, and Tyler, on their outstanding, well-deserved achievement!
